The Americas
California
A Very Private Label (Culinary)
Create your own blend at Napa Valley's Terra Valentine winery. Take a private tour of the winery, hike through the 35-acre cabernet sauvignon vineyard with the winemaker, and taste several vintages from the bottle and more recent crops still aging in barrels. Then blend your own batch, a case of which will be stamped with a personalized label and shipped to your home. Cost: $3,500, including one night's accommodations in the winery's villa. Costa Rica
Forest Savior (Philanthropy, Wildlife)
Spend two days in Corcovado National Park with Alvaro Ugalde, founder of his country's park system, named Time magazine's "Man of the Twentieth Century" for his conservation work, and a J. Paul Getty World Wildlife Prize winner. Corcovado, considered the Amazon of Costa Rica, is the largest piece of primary forest left on Central America's Pacific coast and supports sea turtles, macaws, and jaguars. Cost: $10,000 donation to one of Alvaro's Costa Rican charities. Source: Richard Edwards, Wildland Adventures, Seattle (800-345-4453; richard@wildland.com; wildland.com).

Florida
Mickey's Personal Guest (The Arts)
Enjoy prime seats for the afternoon parade at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, where waiting in one less line could save your sanity. Instead of staking out curbside standing room on Main Street 90 minutes before step-off, arrive at a shady bench on the bridge to Frontierland just ten minutes early. The Disney-clad characters make sure to give special attention to guests seated there. Cost: $750, including five hours in the park with a VIP escort. Polo Master Class (Sports)
Play a full six-chukker match with professional Argentine polo players such as Alejandro Agote (nine-goal handicap) on a world-class polo estancia outside Buenos Aires. After the match, share an asado (a traditional grilled meat dish), Mendoza wine, and plenty of stories with your teammates. Cost: $4,590, September to May. Guatemala
Amid the Mayans (History)
Have a private tour of the dig at El Mirador, in the Maya Biosphere Reserve, with renowned archaeologist Richard Hansen. New finds here call into question the established chronology of Mayan society. Although accessing El Mirador normally means a three-day walk through the steamy jungle accompanied by mules, you'll arrive by helicopter from Flores to explore the earliest and largest cities in the Mayan world. Cost: $3,000. Source: Richard Edwards (see Costa Rica).
