As of August 2008, the Condé Nast Traveler Five & Alive Fund had received nearly $1 million­ from readers and the travel industry.

Founding partner Crystal Cruises donated a cruise to the fund's April auction and held its own onboard auction; it is also designing products for sale on board, with proceeds benefiting the fund. And Crystal Cruises president Gregg Michel and cruise director Gary Hunter joined Condé Nast Traveler editor-in-chief Klara Glowczewska and actor/activist Ashley Judd on a tour of the fund's work in Rwanda, an experience Crystal will share with passengers in a video. Fund founding partner Beam Global Spirits & Wine has donated $150,000 to launch the first-ever clean drinking water program in Mumbai. Virginia's Inn at Little Washington held its thirtieth-anniversary gala last April as a benefit for the fund, raising some $641,800.

Next March, the Inn at Blackberry Farm, in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains, will donate the proceeds from its Wine, Women, and Song Week­end. The three-day event will celebrate female achievement in food, wine, media, music, and humanitarianism, with Glowczewska and Judd both attending.
