Christened just in time for Christmas 2002, the Villa Paradiso is three 3,500-square-foot villas, each with its own pool and gasp-inducing views of the Caribbean. Designer Adam Tihany combines Eastern elements and minimalist settings such as antique Buddhas set in subtly lit wall niches. Pillow-packed divans and wall hangings add splashes of color. Each villa has four bedrooms—with two master suites—where unfussy beige fabrics are paired with dark Brazilian hardwoods. Bathrooms open to gardens, in which, hidden among the foliage, is the four-footed bathtub. This is the first phase of a beachside property set to include 25 villas, a restaurant, and a spa (212-327-4000 in New York; villaparadisonevis.com villas, $10,500 a week).
