Getting the facts on flightus interruptus
Rather than take a direct flight from San Francisco to Denver, it can be cheaper to book a flight to Washington, D.C., that makes a stop in Denver en route. Can I buy a seat on the D.C. flight and just deplane in the Mile High City?

No matter how illogical the pricing systemor how tempted you are by the savingsyou would breach airline regulations by deplaning early (and you would not be able to check luggage, either). "The traveler who engages in this practice," according to a US Airways spokesperson, "takes the chance of losing his reservation for the return trip." If you don't adhere to a ticketed itinerary, you face having to pay full price for the return flight.
