Chicago: Material Possessions

Swoon: The Canopy Racine
Chandelier from Material
Possessions in Chicago
by Eimear Lynch
From one of my favorite Chicago stores, Material Possessions, comes this chandelier that I could only afford--and fit into my apartment--if I lived in the cheaper square footage of Windy City itself. I saw the flowery fixture on a recent Chicago jaunt to the famed shop, a 30-year-old vestige of the city's Gold Coast filled with jewelry, decor, plates, linens and one-offs of the nattiest North Shore variety. And its clientele? Interior designers in the know, like Architectural Digest-renowned Suzanne Lovell, along with other local celebs: Oprah, Nate Berkus, and Bill Murray are fans.
