Test Your Travel I.Q.
By Wendy Perrin
In case you missed my TEST YOUR TRAVEL SMARTS quiz in Conde Nast Traveler's Nov 2006 issue: It's now online! Note to anyone who scores 25 or higher: I WANT TO TALK TO YOU, so please post a comment letting me know how often you travel, why you're on the road so much, and the best way for me to contact you to interview you for an article. (If you'd prefer to shoot me a private e-mail, send it to wperrin@cntraveler.com.) I'd also be interested to know which questions you couldn't answer.
Special note to CoralsO, LoriB, Tracker1312, Seafarer, and Kiwiwriter: Since you guys aced the WHERE IN THE WORLD IS WENDY? contest (which means I get to take each of you to lunch at the restaurant of your choice), I've got high hopes for you. I'm looking forward to lunch with CoralsO in April, Kiwiwriter hopefully in September, and the rest of you whenever and wherever in the world our paths may cross.

I will be visiting Reykjavik, Iceland for a day during a cruise this summer. I don't want to book a shore excursion to the Blue Lagoon through the ship since I want to spend longer there having spa treatments, etc. What is the best way to get to the Blue Lagoon from Reykjavik -- by cab (which I've heard is EXPENSIVE) or is there convenient bus service or private transportation from the port? Thanks for any information you or your readers can provide!

I did ok - 22 right.
Missed VAT, BA carryon weight, which countries car rentals are not covered by AMEX (knew Jamaica & Ireland, but guessing on the rest), value of Frequent flyer miles, and a few others. Do I get a silver star at least? : 0)
The next part of the test was much harder - not admitting that score!

With a score of 13/30 it seems I don't know as much about travel as I thought. Of course, the only way to increase my knowledge would be to travel more. Where's the nearest plane???

Note the question about carry-on weight limit is before they changed (not the current allowance).
