WHERE'S WENDY? Extra Credit Question

Blogger Wendy Perrin posts from the port of Algiers and keeps readers guessing as to her exact location on the ship.
The port of Algiers, Algeria, at 5:00 p.m. today.

Tracker, do you work for the C.I.A.?  How on earth do you find me so quickly?   I'm not sure how I'm going to stump you, so let's try this:  What's my next stop?   Even harder, where am I at this moment?   Here's one more clue:

Leaving Valencia yesterday, June 24, 2007.

Where am I?

How do I tell you without giving it all away to the other players? :)

Right now, you're in the middle of the Mediterranean, on your way to your next stop. Valencia, Spain.

And no, I don't work for the CIA. Although, that would be cool. ;)

Perhaps on the ferry to Marseilles?

or on the ferry to Oran?

TheGlobalTraveller, oh, I think she's on a ship alright, but it's no ferry. :D

Marseilles is most obvious, I also found Alicante or Barcelona. But I think she may have put the port in there to throw us off the trail LOL.
So just to offer a few more guesses by air: Oran, Niamey, Jeddah, Damascus, Adrar, Tamenghest, Paris, Madrid, or back to Barcelona! Where oh where is Wendy sleeping tonight??

perhaps sleeping on an oh so comfortable pillow on the Silver Whisper? back to Valencia though - hmmm

Ack! LoriB, you gave it away!!!

Sheesh, now it's going to be harder.

I knew since day 3 she was on that ship. So, there, a heads up to everyone.

BTW, that's one heck of a ship. I wanna go on it! And I don't even want to cruise. LOL

awww and I thought I was the good cruise guesser lol. But I doubt she will stay put in Valencia for another 4 days. Time will tell....

Yes a lovely ship she is. Maybe Wendy will like it a bit better than Celebrity : 0)

Well, since the cat's out of the bag, I might as well go even further. Wendy, I think I know where you are on the ship (sleeping soundly on a nice comfy bed in the middle of the Mediterranean).

I'm going to guess that you're on Deck 6. I'll guess that it's gotta be one of the following rooms:

624, 626, 628, 630, 632, 634

I hope this doesn't count as stalking LOL.

You are way to funny Tracker! Ok, and I guess all the other cabins. Wendy I want to know what kind of turn down service you get on that ship. I would expect one heck of a mint on my pillow!

I should have known! This is Wendy.

please advise must see sites in:1.Istanbul(4 days),July 10-13. 2.Athens,Greece (1 1/2 days,July 21-22) OK to do on own or is guide recommended? Thanks, Lloyd

Hopefully you don't have the kids with you on Silversea - I was on last year and their children's programs are nonexistent! Anyway, order a filet with bearnaise from room service for me!

Good job, Tracker. I am indeed on Deck 6, though not in any of the cabins you mentioned.

I'm having problems with your newest post (the comments section won't load), if you're on deck 6, I'm pretty sure that you're on the left side of the ship.

How about 640, 642, 644, 646, 648, 650, 652, 654, 658?

I get a message about them doing routine maintenance on the site. What a time to do it! LOL

Don't know why my last post was posted three times...

There's still something wrong with your newest post. When you click "continue reading" or "comments" or "permalink" it only loads the concierge.com header and the ads on the left. Where the article should be is blank.

So you don't like my guess "all the rest"? awww - and the new post still won't let you see the clues or post comments.

Yeah, you know, your "all the rest" guess, means that you win! hehe...

Grr. I hate it when the internets do not function properly!

Wow - lets go all out with the starboard side then
Starting with the Grand Suite 601, 603, 605, 607, 609, 611, 615, 623, 625, 627,629, 631, 635, 637, 639, 641, 643, 645, 647, 649, 651, 653, 655, 657, 659 - did I miss any LOL

BTW, before the site went wonky, I posted a guess on the new one, but you can ignore it. I thought I had been wrong about the deck, but I was right. Soooo....

I want to see the clues again though...I think I'm suffering from withdrawl. :D

oops missed 621

Okay, that's fair, you take the Starboard side, and I've taken the Port side, so that means one of us has to be right...or your other right. LOL!

yes dang, I am flying blind here, never got the clue to load up. GJ Tracker - I chose the wrong time to take a break : 0)

Well, then, I think she's toward the rear, maybe she's giving her speech in the Venetian Lounge.

Since you didn't get to see the clues, she said it was convenient for a lecture she's giving and that she's leaving Valencia tomorrow, but not by boat.

And to be on the safe side, I'll go ahead and name the rest of the rooms on the left side too! Rest on the port side are:

602, 604, 606, 608, 610, 612, 614, 616, 618, 620, and 622.

Although I'm leaning toward her being toward the back. Perhaps in the last room on that side...658. I'll laugh if that's the one.

If you chose the wrong time to take a break, it didn't have to be a long one. I think I loaded up the page right after she posted the thing, and posted a few minutes later, and I wasn't even sure if my post went through because it never loaded.

She is probably wondering what happened to us lol - we are here Wendy! And we know where you are.

So Tracker, how did you decide on deck 6?

A magician never reveals her secrets!

Okay, I'm kidding. It has to do with perspective. I'm a 3D artist. I knew that she took that picture of the Veles e Vents building from pretty high up. No matter how high you are, where you are looking, where your eyeline is, is always on the horizon. You can be crouched down at sea level, or on the top of the alps, or in an airplane, and if you are looking at a parallel angle from the ground wherever you are, you will always be looking at the horizon. The only time this wouldn't hold true is if you went too high up from the earth or into space, obviously.

The horizon line in the picture she took of Veles e Vents goes through the fourth floor of the building, hence, she has to be on about the fourth floor of some other structure. I thought deck 6 looked to be about four stories high. So, it was a little luck, because she didn't necessarily take those pictures from inside her cabin. It was an educated guess.

And there, guys, is your lecture on perspective and eye-line for today!

VVN explanation. The only picture I found was about the same perspective, so thought could have been from another building nearby.

I think she is thinking you managed to sneak a tracking device in that new passport she is using! lol

Haha! Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, those RFID tracking devices they were talking about. Then "they" will know where you are at all times! LOL

Do I work for the CIA... She's probably looking over her shoulder, wondering if I'm following her somehow. Come my CIA agents...follow Wendy! BWAHAHAHA *evil Bond villain laugh*

I wish I had the money to go on that ship. It's spiffy!

I guess tech support is hard to get on the ship. Still can't get to the clues.

Yeah, me neither. I wonder what would happen if she just reposted it? It's the only post that seems to not be working.

Of course, she may be doing something fun right now and not even know there's anything wrong with the forum. It's about 9pm there. Good time of day to kick back, relax and have a glass of wine.

Well, I sent a message to tech support. Heaven knows when they'll actually read it, but who knows, they might get to it quickly. Or not.

Yes it has been a while. I hope she is enjoying her wine (or maybe sleep) while we are here waiting on her - hehehe.

If I were her, I'd be sound asleep about now. After all that tramping around Roman Ruins in the summer heat of North Africa, and all the excitement from watching the race, I'd be out like a baby. :D

Ack! It's working!

Okay, now it's not working. :(

ok now it says 3 comments, but still won't load - arggh!

Yeah, those are my posts. The first one was from right after Wendy posted it, the other two are from a few minutes ago. It let me post, and then it stopped working! What gives?

LoriB, it's working now!

it was for a second - still did not see the clues but saw you figured it out! : 0)

Someone else has posted. Strange that it works for a minute and then breaks, but comes back after a little while huh? We need tech support!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's in 658.
