$700 Roundtrips to Shanghai on Continental
by Julia Bainbridge on Travel Deals

Remember how Wendy said in her January article The World on Sale that one way to find travel deals is to watch for sales when airlines introduce new routes? Well, to celebrate its introduction of non-stop service from New York (Newark) to Shanghai, Continental Airlines is advertising $315 flights to Shanghai. Of course, that's only the one-way cost, not including tax. Once you do all the math, however, the fare is still a good one: You can fly non-stop roundtrip from Newark to Shanghai for a total of $669.90 (including all taxes). From Boston you can do it for $714 total.
This way you can afford to sleep off your jet lag on the cushioned daybeds at Vue Bar, one of Condé Nast Traveler's 2008 Hot List lounges.
