Wendy keeps telling me how great Jamaica can be for kids. Perhaps you recall her family trip there two winters ago? So we were delighted to learn of this deal: 5 nights for the price of 4 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, with all meals included.
Rates for the "Escape to Luxury Package" start at $409 per night for a garden view room and include breakfast, lunch, dinner, all beverages (including alcohol!), high-speed Internet access, sailing and windsurfing lessons, and use of non-motorized sports equipment. Plus children under 12 stay and eat for free. In other words, a family with kids staying 5 nights will pay $1,636 total (including all taxes and fees) instead of the usual $2,045 and won't have to pay a cent for food and drink!
Book by: May 31. Make sure to mention the Escape to Luxury Package.
For travel from: June 1 to December 23
Condé Nast Traveler approved: The Ritz-Carlton, Rose Hall, was named one of our top 100 golf resorts every year from 2005 to 2008, and it made our Gold List from 2003-2005.
Note: If you book via the hotel's web site, you'll see the fare quoted for all 5 nights. After you book, though, you'll receive confirmation with the true rate of $1,636 total. If you book by phone, you can avoid this altogether.

Don't waste your time or money. I was just there 2 weeks ago and it was not up to the Ritz standards AT ALL. The property is not being kept up well (except for the lobby). I had a garden view room and there was no garden to view. It didn't appear they have watered the property in a long time (it wasn't even slightly pleasing to the eye). The beach was dirty (you couldn't walk on it without shoes because it would hurt your feet with all the stuff in it). The food choices were poor and not very good (one night I didn't even eat my filet mignon...it seemed like it had been microwaved). And the service was extremely slow. At the beach bar, I couldn't even get a drink after waiting 15 minutes...so I walked away thirsty. I had a direct comparison because I was at a neighbor property just 2 weeks before my stay at the Ritz. The Rose Hall Resort & Spa (the Hilton property) is a far better choice. Beautiful, clean beaches, fast service, great food choices and restaurants on property, the grounds are kept up very well and so is the building. And the price is a lot less expensive. So, look for a deal there. I'd recommend an all-inclusive...I ate at every restaurant and had drinks at every bar and the service and food was excellent. There are deals to be had here as well as all over Jamaica. But you can't go wrong with the Hilton property.
