Great Travel Moment

During a four day cruize of the Yangtze Gorge in China, we left our cruize ship for the smaller tour boat with the orange tile roof as pictured. The water level of this river is expected to rise another 100 m. when the massive Three Gorges Dam is completed. We were surprised to see new roads, power lines, tunnels, bridges, and especially new homes already in place, providing a better life for the people dispossessed by the rising waters. Here is a glimpse of life along the Yangtze where for centuries devastating floods annually killed so many people but today the river provides electricity and a better life for all China.
