Great Travel Moment

Everyone is familiar with Carnival and how energetically it is celebrated in Brazil. But not as many know about the Boi Bumba Festival celebrated in the Amazon area. This is a cultural competition that lasts for 3 weeks in June. We were lucky enough to be treated to a dress-rehearsal in Parintins (for 3 hrs) in March one evening. The costumes, colors and exhuberant dancing were amazing! Much work goes on by the whole community to prepare for this festival. We were impressed!
