Great Travel Moment This photo of Chenonceau was taken during a visit to the Loire Valley. My husband and I were highly amused by the division of the chateau's gardens into those designed by Catherine de Medici (the queen) and those designed by Diane de Poitiers (the royal mistress who was much the king's senior and had once, in effect, been his royal babysitter). While strolling the gardens, I snapped this photo of the chateau. My violet camera filter provided the image with a misty quality that emphasizes the romance of the scene. |
