Around the world people have faith in a myriad of things. At La Basilica de Nuestro Senora de los Angeles in Cartago, Costa Rica, these pipes produce water from a river which many believe to have curative properties. I was touched by how such a site draws all types of people: young, suffering from cancer, faithful, desperate. It is a simple enough place, but by observing comings and goings for a few minutes, it quickly becomes a touching experience.
