Great Travel Moment My family took one last vacation together to Nova Scotia a few years ago, to visit the places my father remembers as a child growing up there. Along the way, we discovered the churches where my grandfather held sermons, the houses they once lived in, and a beautiful untouched coastline studded with lighthouses, as we slowly became engulfed by fog. Towards the end of the trip, we visited my grandmothers favorite recreational spot, Peggys Cove, the background of many maritime family pictures, with my father and aunt playing on the coves rocks, docks, and beaches. In this image, I see the soul of Nova Scotia; fog, sea, fish and family. I had the opportunity to deepen my roots and connect with my father and brother, before setting out on my own. Peggys Cove is an idyllic symbol of my familys journey throughout the Atlantic coast and into one anothers hearts. |
