Great Travel Moment Ever since my departure to college, Shohei (my best friend since age zero) and I began drifting apart, which was quite sad since we had made a pact to play Taiko (Japanese drumming) together for life. Then during the summer of 2001, I came back to the Bay Area for the break and we decided to volunteer for an event down in Los Angeles. Our first road trip as adults, the traveling experience proved to strengthen our weakening bond. Although the event was great, the most memorable parts of the trip were the moments alone with Shohei, in between each new scenery and encounter. As Shohei drove my beat-up, blue, Corolla-Wagon down the I-5, I caught a glimpse of our reflection against the shiny rims of a big rig. Heres to remembering and cherishing all the moments in between |
