As I write this on Earth Day, this photo depicts a logging stop along the Amazon River where not all the logs being removed are what they seem. Some logs are cut& stolen from someone else's property; some are not the wood the cutting permit allows. The area is so vast it is impossible to control and enforce the laws. So the timber disappears and life goes on -
