Great Travel Moment As our summer vacation in Costa Rica began, we didn't see any monkeys no matter how hard we looked. Then, they came out of hiding. We were spotting them in the trees in the cloud forest region. Along the road to Playa del Coco, monkeys crossed the road hand-over-foot on the power lines above. At the remote Montezuma beach area, monkeys used the roof of our cabina as part of their usual pathway with whole families traipsing by. On the opposite coast at Cahuita National Park, the trees along the beach were so loaded with monkeys that it was dangerous. They ate fruit found in the trees, then chucked the inedible portion at their admirers watching below. With their howls, rough housing and trapeze acts, they contributed to our enjoyment monkeying around the beautiful country of Costa Rica. |
