Great Travel Moment While visiting Venice last Fall, my husband and I decided to get an early start on our sightseeing. Our plan was to take the first boat from Lido to St. Mark's Square, and then go on foot to the Rialto bridge to see the market coming alive. As often happens in Venice, we got temporarily lost, and while trying to find our way, we came across this scene. The canal looked so peaceful, it was almost hard to believe that in just an hour or so it would be alive with the hustle and bustle of the day. I hoped to capture that feeling of calm on film, but got even more than I had hoped for with this photo, that reminds me of a watercolour artist's canvas. I plan to blow this one up and hang it in my home, as a reminder of our beautiful Venetian holiday. |
