Great Travel Moment My cousin was visiting me while was living in Ulsan, Korea. We went to the grocery store in town, a huge, upmarket store, and right in the middle of the dairy section, there is a type of diner. None of the food was recognizable to these two Westerners, but I pursuaded my (usually) conservative cousin to have a couple of bites of some of the foods. She sat at the table, at least six inches taller than most of the diners, with pale blue eyes, and pointed to some of the food she would sample. Before I knew it, she was conversing with the Koreans - they were speaking Korean, and she was speaking English, but they all appeared to be having a great time, and how many people do you know can say they have had a three course dinner in the middle of a grocery store? |
