Great Travel Moment Last June, I visited Santorini, Paros and Mykonos. Of these, Paros was my favorite. Untouched by the commercial tourism that plagues the other islands, Paros was a peaceful island full of the old-world Greek charm. The white cobblestone streets enveloped the island like soft ribbons of chalky stone connecting the blue shuttered homes. I took this pictureon the way to the water as I found myself one afternoon looking for a place to watch the sun-set. Somewhat lost amidst the curving streets, I turned onto the street pictured here. Suddenly before me was a vision of the royal blue water glistening in the sun. It was a beautiful scene the red flowers blossoming on green vines and the umbrellas lining the street were perfectly framed by the archway of white stone that characterizes Greek island life. The picture captured the essence of Paros peaceful, simply unassuming, innocent. |
