Great Travel Moment

Visiting the long neck tribes in Northern Thailand gave me a sense of unease with the voyeuristic approach of the tour companies. Dawdling after the main groups had gone,I saw this young girl who had left her more posed position and sat down to play. I wondered where her toy had come from since the rest of the village seemed to be set up in very traditional style.This is how I prefer to remember the day - with a child being a child - not posing for tourist attention. I left with a resolve to consider the impact of such trips on small cultural enclaves.
