Great Travel Moment We'd spent the morning hiking over a lateral moraine along the side of the Gornergratt glacier in Switzerland. At times the trail had been reduced to a narrow ledge made only passable by a supporting chain that was bolted into the side of the mountain. After one brief moment of terrorI tried to warn her not to look over the 2,000 foot precipicemom had made her way across the gap and on to the other side. We stopped at our return point to take photos of the amazing view, and with the Matterhorn in the distance, mom proudly displayed her Simpson College pennant. |
