Great Travel Moment On a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico last spring we took a morning walk over to La Fortaleza, Spain's old fort from the 16th century that guards the entrance to the harbor and protects the Old Town. The interior of the building still gives you the feeling of the power of Spain at the zenith of it's empire. This fort was the center of the Spanish Administration of virtually all of what is today Latin America. The repeating arches still give off the feeling of power and control pointing towards infinity that was the mark of a great empire. |
