Great Travel Moment Last May, I traveled to New Orleans to visit some friends. It was 9 months since Hurricane Katrina and I was shocked at how much still needed to be done. Through all of the devastation, the people of New Orleans couldn't have been more accomodating if they tried. The food, art, culture, nightlife was incredible. The love of their city was evident everywhere, even in areas you would expect no hope left. This photo was taken outside St. Louis Cathedral. After having beignets at Cafe Dumond, we took a carriage tour of the French Quarter and witnessed an amazing part of New Orleans culture. After weddings, the entire party parades around Jackson Square led by a full New Orleans band, dancing, laughing, and having a great time. People were dancing in the street- it was hilarious! This captured the incredible heart, soul, and strength of New Orleans. |
