Great Travel Moment In a country ravaged by poverty resulting from imperialistic greed, it is hard to imagine anyone has the freedom or affluence for a vacation. Nevertheless, wealthier families migrate every weekend to the shores of Lake Titicaca where they bask in the sun, picnic, and are rowed by indigenous workers to the nearby islands, ironically housing the ruins of the indigenous Inca culture. Such irony reflects much of my personal interpretation of modern Bolivia itself. |
