Great Travel Moment

One photo to capture the wonder of Machu Picchu. A few words to express how my breath is stolen as I creep over and peek down towering cliffs into bottomless valleys with raging rivers, and at the same time find myself surrounded and dizzied by soaring peaks shrouded in mystery and cloud. A moment to describe a city silent for centuries, yet still crackling with spirits of the visionary leaders, magical priests, genius engineers and scientifically-oriented farmers who conceived and realized this incredible retreat. The Peruvians are lobbying for Machu Picchu to be named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Having breathed the air of this lost city, I wonder,“Can there possibly be six others in the world which even compare with this place” because despite the altitude and diminished oxygen supply, I found it easier to breathe here than any place I've been in years.
