Great Travel Moment This is by far my most cherished photograph because It was literally the first thing I saw in the morning when I looked out my hotel window. I arrived in Cairo in the dead of night to meet my family at Hotel Oberoi Mena House, an upscale, hotel situated within walking distance of the Great Pyramids. It was pitch black and I knew the ancient structures were so close but couldn't quite see them. My father had purposly booked a room with a view of the Pyramids so this could be our view for our entire (short) stay. Though I had arrived at 4:00 AM Cairo time, after only 2 hours I had to get up and see what was out there. I shot this photograph at 6 AM out the window of our hotel room, a perfectly framed Pyramid beyond the ornate, wooden window frame of Mena House. |
