Great Travel Moment Our trusty river guide Mr. Hong sat patiently in the controlled chaos that was the floating market. We were waiting for our chance to enter the pulsing, floating, crazy chaos of the river market. While waiting he took time to tell me stories of the residents of the Mekong that passed by us. Mr. Hong told me of parents that had lost their children, of newlyweds, of sunken boats and new businesses. The more different we seem on the outside, the more similar I believe we all really are on the inside. I watched the people passing and thought of the people that love them and that they love. It made me think of my friends and family and I wondered what a guide would say about me if he knew me and took tourists past me on the street. |
