Great Travel Moment After a cable car ascent of one kilometer, we faced a big decision. Do we chicken out and ride the SkyTram back down the mountainside in safety and comfort? Or do we descend on 5/8 steel cable zipping above the rainforest canopy? After a couple of short practice runs, we felt oddly confident in our harnesses and steel pulleys. We decided to go for it. After all, hadnt thousands of loco gringos in the Arenal Rain Forest of Costa Rica done it before us? In the photo my 15 year old rides the longest segment at 2400 feet and disappears into the lush rainforest below. I fly right behind him in one of the most exhilarating travel experiences of my life. |
