Great Travel Moment While staying in Puerto Vallarta, we took the water taxi over to Yelapa for the day. Yelapa, having no roads, in only accessible by water. Although it was the dry season, our guide took us up the hill to see the "waterfall" - not much of a waterfall without rain. But the excursion took us into what I like to think of as the "real" mexico...apart from the hotels and tourism. This little fellow was waiting when we reached the top. His english was much better than our spanish. He beckoned us to throw coins into the water so that he could go in after them. Who could resist? Not us. As we threw pesos, he jumped in after them. He was full of energy and captured our hearts immediately. The fact that he was wearing a watch and those great swimming trunks brought a smile to my face. Now, looking back over these photos, I see more of the contrast that is truly Mexico. I love reliving this great experience through my photos. |
