Dream Trip 2008: AprilA reunion With Polish Friends- Near Zakopane Mountain, Poland

Great Travel Moment After attending a wedding in Krakow, Poland, we went to Zakopane for a reunion with the other Polish friends we hosted in Tampa in August 2005. Not everyone made it because some lived very far from Zakopane. We had a wonderful time river rafting during the day and then we stayed at a nice "pensjonaty" (Pension) near the Peniny Mountain by the Slovak border. It was days of eating, drinking Vodka (I do not drink but they did), singing, and dancing. It was very cold at night, so we had a bonfire in the backyard and told stories. Not everyone of our friends spoke English but the others translated for us. My husband and I get letters and greeting cards in Polish and we have them translated. This picture reminds me that friends will always be friends regardless of creed, race, language,or religion. There is that bond that unites us. I love traveling, meeting people, and making new friends. It broadens my horizon! |

The world would be a much better place if everyone adopted that philosophy. Next time, try the vodka. It will keep you warmer!
