Great Travel Moment There we were, walking along the jagged volcanic rocks of a Galapagos Island, admiring the incredible natural beauty of this place, when all of a sudden a baby sea lion started to call out to one of our travel companions. We stopped to acknowledge this little guy. He continued his cries slowly making his way right up to our group. We dared not reach out to him but allowed him to approach us. Having no reason to fear us, and I guess looking for someone to comfort him, he crept right up to a woman in our tour group and sniffed at her feet. I guess he realized that she wasn?t his mother so after a while he made his way back to the water. It was a definite close encounter that we will never forget. At that moment, we felt a real connection to nature and realized how lucky we are to have places like the Galapagos Islands where such close encounters are still possible. |
