Great Travel Moment While visiting the ancient temples of Bagan in Myanmar, I wondered how I was going to make it back to the hotel in the scorching 120-degree heat. I had set out in the early morning on foot, not realizing the intense mid-morning sun would leave me stranded in the shadow of a ruined 12th-century pagoda. I was getting anxious, wondering if I could manage the long walk across the barren, dirt fields. As soon as I gained the courage to walk back out into the sun, a horse and buggy came plowing down the dusty road and picked me up--answering my prayers and saving the day. |
