Great Travel Moment Sipping a drink and watching the sunset over the island of Moorea in French Polynesia, I noticed the perfect scene developing on a dock near the resort. A local teenager playing the guitar while a young boy practiced spinning a baton - the kind used during the traditional fire dances of the Polynesian culture. At first it was just the two of them, and then with the sun perfectly silhouetting the scene, more local children and their dog strolled barefoot, and some with flip-flops, to participate in the moment. The young man playing the guitar sang and the other kids joined in - a perfect memory - caught on film - the image takes me back to it, effortlessly. |
