Great Travel Moment

We married two weeks after my breast cancer surgery. There was pain mingled with the joy as we left for our honeymoon. The plan had been to spend our days hiking but I wasn't able to use my arm much and didn't have energy for more than a few miles at a time. Our only hike at Bryce was a simple loop which passed through the slot canyon in the photo. As I looked at the lone pine growing up through the narrow passage it spoke to me of the power of life in the face of difficult circumstances. When I look at this photo now I see it as a picture of the life-giving power of hope.
