Great Travel Moment

On a trip to New Zealand, suddenly the road ended and sand took over. I was surrounded not by sea but by mountains in some surreal imagery as if the water had literally been removed beforehand. I walked toward the water in the background and which looks close but took almost an hour to get to! A true optical illusion in more ways than one.
