Great Travel Moment This photo I took was from the week of the California fires. My family was evacuated to the local fairgrounds where we spend five days praying that our house would be spared. Here I sat in the parking lot with my camera and a protective mask to prevent ash entering my lungs, and took a picture of the sun peeking through the ash-stricken sky. For those five unforgettable days, the one thing I savored was the time I spent with my family. I missed school, and spent days with my mother, father, brother, grandmother and grandfather. We would sit at the indoor tables together, and enjoy a donated meal, sleep on the linoleum floors within an arms-radius close of eachother and speak more to eachother than at home. Although it seems like such a downing situation, it was an opportunity of realization of the important things my live includes. |
