Great Travel Moment This boat vendor and her son were at Halong Bay in North Vietnam before sunrise. I got up early to see the activities and to take pictures. She was very enthusiastic. She was selling shells to the passengers on the cruise boats. Her son was drinking milk the first time I saw them. When the excitement died down, she sat there in a very pensive mood. I watched her for a long time. I was not sure that she was aware of me observing her from the deck of our boat. I wondered what she was thinking of. Her means of livelihood was certainly not easy! This picture reminds me of the hard working Vietnamese people. After all the adversities that they went through, they are very optimistic. I admire their tenacity. |
