Great Travel Moment In August, I traveled to the base of Mt. Everest to pursue my goal to experience all 7 Natural Wonders of the World. On the Friendship Hwy., between Nepal and Tibet, I stopped and met this woman. Her home, a tent, was on the crest of the highway at about 13,000 feet and was surrounded by Tibetan prayer flags. She spoke to me in her language, and while I did not understand her words, I did understand her welcome to her home and her willingness to let me photograph her. She wanted money I am sure, and she kept pointing at her ankle and pulling her skin, as to say she was hungry or dehydrated. She had no socks, but would not take mine. I left her with apples, and took with me her warm smile and a bit of her life experience. |
