Great Travel Moment

This photo captures not only the devistation that hundreds of people in Peru endured during the August 15, 2007 earthquake, but the amazing relief efforts that I witnessed during my two week stay in Cusco and Lima, Peru. The unity and dedication of the Peruvian people to help their fellow man was absolutely amazing, in organizing relief efforts, clothing and food drives. As I experienced this devastation firsthand, the word "unity" became a more bold and tangible concept to me, as I watched and participated in the solidarity amongst a people in which I barely spoke the language.
