Great Travel Moment We were visiting the Amr bin al Aaes Mosque in Cairo, Egypt. My wife was asked to wear this green hood to cover herself. All women are asked to Cover themselves with this green hood. Apparently the reason for the green hood is some women visit the Mosque scantily clad over the peak summer season/ |

I love the perspective and repetition in this photo. Interesting colors and textures too. Very nice.

this photo seems to be like a spiritual journey of some sort. the hood, your wife and learning that a liltle baby was also in the picture makes it more so like an emotional experience. it seems though that they are walking into something so mysterious,magical and mystical, like a mother trying to reach the end of the mosque to protect her baby from some danger or to bring her to a place where she knows she will be happy and safe.

We were in Cairo, Egypt earlier this year for a few weeks. We visited this Mosque( our first Mosque) and it was a surreal experience. My wife was asked to wear this Green Hood to cover herself...apparently during the Summer Season, women come into this place of worship scantily clad at times! My 5 month old baby is actually in the picture as well, she was being held by my wife in front of her. It was a cold in Cairo that day...46F!
