Great Travel Moment

I have carried a cover of Conde Nast Traveler magazine, June 1987 edition, around with me for a long time. The cover, similar to this month's cover (August 2008) shows a view from an infinity edge-pool. I always dreamed of "living the cover" and finally had my chance this June when I visited a friend who works at the Astra Hotel in Imerovigli on Santorini's cliffside. My friend let us view a suite room and I immediately spied the infinity pool which looked amazing plus I was pretty hot from the long walk up from Fira to this spot and was dying for dip. My friend, Sharon, knew of the cover (I'd mentioned it to her before) and how much I enjoyed photos and told me she'd grab me a towel if I wanted to hop in the pool...I didn't need coaxing! I FINALLY lived the cover!
