Great Travel Moment The Taj Mahal is a magnificent piece of architecture. I was lucky to have gone to India as a birthday gift from my husband. I was in awe upon seeing the famous building. It was ,also, exremely hot in May. There were 31 of us in our tour group and we had to meet at a certain time in a certain place. As I had about two hours to spare, I was able to meet a lot of interesting people. Even as a Florida resident who is used to hot and humid weather, a temperature of 120 degrees was difficult to bear. So, I kept on moving to watch the people. I met a lot of interesting people. There were thousands of tourists like me but they were dressed well in beautiful, flowing silk saris with exquisite jewelry. Since we were not allowed to wear shoes in the Taj Mahal compound, most were bare-footed. Some had the disposable plastic surgical shoe covers on. It was a pleasure to observe the Indian tourists who walked around with such pride and joy. |

A nice shot. I hope to get to the Taj Mahal one day. Your narrative was very interesting. People watching is something done around the world I guess. *****

Thank you ,Cindy! I admired how those women carried themselves so elegantly in spite of the extreme heat!

I'd go for the shoe covers if I were you. Do you think they have mini fans under those saris? Nice shot and interesting comment, Tess.
