Great Travel Moment

I took this photograph in May 2008 while on vacation with my parents in Sabi-Sands, South Africa. The photo reminds me of the totality of senses stirred by that moment: the cracking sound of the impala's bones snapping in the leopard's jaws, the smells of flesh rotting in the setting African sun, the visceral intensity of the spotted hyena circling below, waiting for a scrap to fall.
