Dream Trip 2008: MarchSpanish Sausages and Ham in the Market of Barcelona, Spain

Great Travel Moment We found the St. Josep La Boqueria Market of Barcelona by mistake. In order to avoid the big crowd at La Rambla Street early in the morning, we took a right turn in a small street and found it. Spain is famous for "tapas" (small meals or appetizers) so we were excited when we found this store. Each province in Spain has a specialty sausage or ham. It was hard to decide what to buy so we observed the locals and asked the store keeper for suggestions. We did not speak Catalan, the language of Barcelona, but I spoke some Castillan Spanish which came in handy. We went back to our apartment with several bags of food. This picture makes me want to go back to that market. My husband and I enjoyed Barcelona very much. |
