Great Travel Moment My husband and I found St. Josep La Boqueria Market off La Rambla Street in Barcelona,Spain by accident. We wanted to get away from the big crowd early in the morning so we turned right and ended up at the entrance to the market. We have visited many markets and this was one of the best. The fruit and vegetables were arranged very carefully. They had many varieties of seafood that I have never seen before. I decided to get some shrimp since we were staying in a furnished "apartel" (apartment-hotel) outside of Barcelona that had a nice kitchen with all the appliances. At that moment, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I could not make a decision because I had so many choices. I ended up buying some familiar looking jumbo shrimp. They were good. I can still remember the taste of those huge shrimp when I see this picture. Going to the market gave us an opportunity to see the locals and what they buy. I am willing to go back to Barcelona to see that market again. |
