Great Travel Moment

This is me when I went to China. I got stuck traveling with some unadventurous old farts who wanted to eat at mcdonald's the entire trip. I refused to conform to this, and bought an octopus on a stick from a local street vendor. After I bought it however, I began to have second thoughts. It certainly didn't look very appealing, but my policy is to eat whatever strange foods are considered normal in the places I go. As I was holding it though, the grease that it had been deep fried in began to drip down the sides of my hand. It was a most uncomfortable feeling, that my travel companion happened to capture. luckily the vendor was kind enough to give me a cup to put it in until I could eat it, and it tasted rather good. I ate the whole thing. Unfortunatly it ended up being one of the only times during my China trip that I was able to eat the local fair, and for this, it sticks out in my mind. I will always be able to say I ate an octopus on a stick in China.
