Great Travel Moment I could feel the presence of those who had been laid in the Xoxocotlan Cemetery as I walked through that night. Adorned with candles, flowers and sand paintings, this cemetery is visited by the friends and families of the dead who are buried there. For me it was an opportunity to spend the night in the cemetery observing and listening to the prayers and songs of Mexican families who were welcoming their deceased loved ones for the Day of the Dead. I will always remember sharing homemade tamales and hot chocolate with my friends' family for this special holiday that few North Americans have the opportunity to celebrate. |
