Great Travel Moment

This photo was taken as I waited for the launcha to pick me up from a weekend at Casa del Mundo on Lago Atitlan in Guatemala. The volcanic crater lake is huge and standing on the dock the vastness of the water, the surrounding volcanoes, and cloudy sky is palpable. The hotel, Casa del Mundo, is carved out of the rocky lakeside and hangs over the edge of the lake. When there one feels as though you are in the middle of no where. This photo with its absence of people and objects reminds me of the peacefulness I felt while staying there.
