Great Travel Moment I have visited Portugal many times on tour, cruise ships and on my own. This time I took my 9-year-old grandson who was interested in the explorers Vasco de Gama, Magellan, Henry the Navigator, and a host of others. It was a real joy to visit again and see Portugal through the eyes of a 9-year-old. Here he explores a fishing boat on the beach of Nazare. The town of Nazare is divided between fishing and the tourist industry. With a long spacious beach and plenty of shops to explore, it is a fun place to visit. Each time that I have visited, the town has been bathed in sunshine. The Funicular between upper and lower Nazare made it easy to explore both parts of the city. |
